You can never be fully prepared to see Cartier at their best. The retrospective at the Grand Palais is breathtaking. I reminds you - that yes, there are some really, really rich people float in around the World. And - well, some of them don't have very good taste.

Day Two - Paris 2013 Grand Palais Cafe
Most restaurants within the museums in Paris serve tasty treats for lunch. Rather than leave the property - we find them as good choices to take a break.
Day Two - Paris 2013 Georges Braque
Another terrific exhibition at the Grand Palais this year - Braque started his work with the impressionist and later formed be basis for Cubism along with his pal Picasso.
Day Two - Paris 2013 Felix Vallotton
As the first retrospective to be dedicated to Felix Vallotton in nearly fifty years, the exhibition at the Grand Palais on the Right Bank revisits this artist's work from a unique angle. The exhibit is organized around ten aptly titled themes, evoking not only the aesthetic, social and political concerns that fed his creativity, but also his complex personality. We agreed his works are well worth a visit in Paris.
Day One - Paris 2013 Petit Pontoise
Our tradition when visiting Paris is to take our first dinner at Petit Pontoise - a small friendly restaurant on the Left Bank. Over the past years - the spot has become popular with the USA crowd so reservations are important. Otherwise, you should have a back up plan.

Day One - Paris 2013 Musee Montmartre
Musee Montmartre is a nice small museum (not covered by the Museum Pass, 9 euro) and housed in one of the original buildings. The museum is home to a couple of Toulouse Lautrec's famous images and often has special exhibits of famous Montmartre artists. Of note - is the vineyard and garden which have survived the urban sprawl in the neighborhood.
