Day 1 Oslo - City Tour

It is our first day in Oslo after a long flight from the USA via London. We hired Graciela Arzelan (www.alternativoslo.com) to show us some sights and keep us walking to fight off the jet lag. It is never a bad plan to get oriented in a new town.

Slottsparken is the home to Norway's royal family.

Day 1 Oslo Dinner

Our local guide Graciela Arzelan recommended Stortirvets Gjæstgiveri at Grensen 1 for dinner today (we.stortorvets-Gjaestgiveri.no). The food was tasty and the local beer was perfect after a long day of travel.

Day 1 Oslo Saga Hotel Apartment

We decided to stay at the Saga hotel apartments on holmboesgate 8 in Oslo. I have to admit that is isn't exactly how I imagined but we will make do (www.sagahoteloslo.no). One bed is actually a pull out sofa and not very comfortable. The two bathrooms and two mini kitchens are nice amenities. Of course this is Norway so no air conditioning in the flat.

Oslo - Planning

I finally got tickets for a guided tour of the Oslo Opera house in English. Now - if I could only score some tickets to Swan Lake.
