Contagious Chaos

In every life should come a slow weekend to recharge one's batteries after another hard week at work. The first rule of chaos is that you NEVER get any time from work - just the job! So these past three days have been no different.

I am pleased to report that the interior painters are back in full force. They completed two coats of paint on the master bedroom, guest room and hall. The paint is a bit darker - and the more I look at it - the more I like it. Overall - they have really done a fine job.

I hope they will finish up the exterior painting - some touch up, the chimney, and windows. I would really enjoy have the storm windows back in place and screens. Yes - I am anticipating more fumes in the future! And ... it would be terrific to let in some fresh (though hot) air.

Plumbers worked on Friday to install the new gas line for the kitchen cooktop and oven. The painter reported work on painting the cabinets and walls should start next week. I decided on a 12 inch overlap for the breakfast bar - shorter than the previous at 17 inches - but will be less in the way (and easier to support with two shelving brackets).

I worked in the garden since the weather was cooler. Finally catching up on the weeding that I missed during my poor back days. It is amazing how quickly the garden can fail from neglect. I am glad the weather was cooler - though I am sporting a bit of a sunburn.
