Day 2 - Oslo Vigeland's Sculpture Park

The Vigelandsparken  (http://www.vigeland.museum.no/en/vigeland-park) is not to be missed during your visit to Oslo. The unique sculpture park is the life work of sculptor Gustav Vigeland (1869 - 1943) with more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and cast iron. Let's start with pictures of his works located on the bridge.

The gates were designed in 1926. The wrought iron was carried out in a forge which was constructed next to the Vigeland Museum, south of the park. The Main Gate was erected in 1942.

Vigeland designed the new bridge and modelled in the years 1925 to 1933 the 58 sculptures in bronze. These include a rich variety of children, women and men in different ages, some alone, others in groups.
