Hong Kong - Day Three Chi Lin Nunnery

Day 3 Nov 11 - Located on the North side of the Nan Lian Garden is the beautiful complex of temples from the Chi Lin Nunnery. This is an active place of worship and spiritual preparation and photos of the shrines are prohibited (and closely monitored). The statues here are covered with gold as well as the shrines themselves. It is well worth the uphill walk to the larger chambers. The Nunnery is off limits to the public but several nuns can be seen maintaining the offerings and chanting in the shrines.
