Italy Day - Two

Isola di Procida is full of surprises.

The island measures only 1 by 2 miles. If you don't stop (which I am learning is impossible) you could walk the entire island in a single day.

Procida isn't a destination spot or resort town like its neighboring islands of Ischia or Capri - although native Italians flood the island during August and September break.

Today after enjoying the quiet neighborhoods and lookouts - I cannot imagine them full of crowds and noise. That said - even today the impossibly narrow streets (where a Smart Car looks like a Hummer) are filled with Vespas, strange three wheeled trucks, and tiny cars. Before the adventure is over - we may have to try our luck at riding a Vespa around for fun.

Equipped with my Canon s90 camera and forgetting my sunscreen - we took to the streets with a goal to capture a little of the island's spirit for our memory books. We stolen behind a few forbidden areas ignoring the posted privacy signs and played paparazzi whenever we could.

With luck - some of our pictures will share insights into our secret home.
