S. Michele Arcangelo

A quick peek at the interior of the Abby of S. Michele Arcangelo (17th Century).

This Chiese is located high on the cliffs in the Terra Murata district. From the outside it is easy to overlook this gem. From the inside this Chiese is huge by Procida standards and is by far the largest church on the island.

The church as three naves and 17 altars. Most importantly it holds over 8,000 manuscripts from the 16th Century by Cardinal Innico Avalos of Aragon. Inside is a surprising maze of rooms.
