The entrance to the catacombs of Paris is not very obvious. We met some other travelers a few days ago - who informed us they waited in line over 1 hour to view last week. Now that the crowds have left the city - look no lines! We practically had the place to ourselves.
The catacombs were created in the old Paris quarries in the late 18th century. Over 6 million bodies were removed from the town's cemeteries and relocated to this location.
Note: Bring a flash light! it will help especially with your photographs.
