Motion
Okay - so the metro in Paris is not the cleanest place on the planet. Actually it might qualify as one of the dirtiest. I still love it. Obvious being from Texas - I find any system of mass transit to be a new experience. The St. Michel metro station is closest to the d'Albe Hotel in the Latin Quarter.
I failed to mention that the Abbesses stop (Montmarte) is the deepest station in Paris. Makes sense as Montmartre is the highest point in the city. The station is 8 floors below ground and the walk up a spiral staircase is quite the experience. Next time - we take the elevators.
