Day Eleven - Paris 2015 Goodbye

We aren't going to forget our 2015 trip to Paris any time soon. We love the city of lights. This year's attacks won't stop us from visiting again and didn't dissuade us from our dream of one day living in Paris. Our heart breaks for all of those that lost loved ones during the crisis and we are filled with gratitude for everyone who helped (and worried about us) during our trip. It is time to go home.

Goodbye Paris.

Day Ten - Paris 2015 Shopping

We have exhausted our ability to tour more museums and today is all about walking the streets of Paris. Of course, we will find some time to shop along the way!

Walking down R. Bretagne we stumbled across this nice small outdoor market and one of our favorite kitchen shops, Sabre.

I am not the only one that thinks Paris is TERRIFIC.

Day Nine - Paris 2015 Cluny

The medieval collection is housed in the Cluny museum in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. It is only a few blocks from our hotel in the Latin Quarter.

Day Nine - Paris 2015 Louvre

Another day visiting the collections at the Louvre museum in Paris. I have to take the massive collection in smaller bit-sized visits. Otherwise, I get overwhelmed. It is amazing how much the museum clears out after the Holiday season. You can actually walk up to the Mona Lisa and the museum's other masterpieces. We spent most of today's time visiting the Egyptian, Middle East and Islamic collections housed in the museum. Wonderful!

Day Eight - Paris 2015 Notre Dame

You can never get tired of seeing Notre Dame Cathedral during your visit to Paris. It recently underwent a cleaning of the exterior and is simply beautiful especially when decorated for the Holiday season.

Day Eight - Paris 2015 Robert Delaunay

Early this week we say Sonia Delaunay exhibit at the Palais d'Art Moderne and now we visit the works of her famous husband Robert. His works are on display at the Centre Pompidou museum and is a fairly small installment compared to Sonia's show. The addition of the Paris 1937 International Exhibition including the works of both Sonia and Robert was very interesting.

These three murals are by Sonia and were on display in her show at the d'Arte Moderne exhibit.

Day Eight - Paris 2015 Jeff Koons

The last exhibit we saw of American artist Jeff Koons in Paris had his works installed at Versailles. It was shocking to see the modern works against the backdrop of the grand palace. Today, his works are on display at the Centre Pompidou museum in the Marais. A much more fitting modern space.
