Day Three - Paris 2015 Picasso Museum

Hurray - the Musee Picasso has reopened after renovations that started in 2009. The Musée Picasso Paris collection comprises over 5,000 works and tens of thousands of archived pieces hidden away from visitors  The collection is the only one in the world to present both Picasso’s complete painted, sculpted, engraved and illustrated œuvre and a precise record—through sketches, studies, drafts, notebooks, etchings in various stages, photographs, illustrated books, films and documents—of the artist’s creative process.

We had 09h30m reservations and the line was down the street when we arrived. The exhibit is very popular and people were lining up at the entry all day. The museum has expanded into the attic space to mainly hold Picasso's personal art collection including a Modigliani (which I love). It was difficult to remember exactly how the old museum was layed out but the new space was bright and very nice. Tip: be sure to reserve an English audio guide with your ticket - otherwise, we found they were sold out. It took us about 2.5 hours to walk through the museum which would have been longer with the audio guide.
