Day Two - Mexico City, Alameda Central & Mural Diego Rivera

Alameda Central takes its name from the popular trees that were planted here by Velasco. The park is very popular on weekends with locals who enjoy the fountains and makes for a nice break for visitors too. The west end of the park is host to food trucks and local food vendors at the Plaza de la Solidaridad. The Museo Mural Diego Rivera is home to one of his famous murals, Sunday Afternoon in the Alameda Central. The mural was saved after the earthquake destroyed its former home. It also boasts a picture of his wife, Freda Kahlo.
