The Move

Today's entry will be a long one. As you can tell (if you have visited the site since Thursday) - things have been very busy! I have not had much extra time to update the site. I think you will be impressed. We are ... but plenty more to go.

On Thursday the workers moved our master bedroom furniture back into the house from the garage. The our current living quarters (the guest room) was dismantled in preparation for removing the carpet and beginning work on the hardwood floors. The remodeled guest room is filled with furniture from the garage and furniture from our current living space.

So ... with a little tidying up, emptying closets, and moving junk - we spent our first night back in our bedroom. Needless to say - it was an adventure. The cats -who we have been chasing out of the room for weeks - were reluctant to enter the room. The pups were excited to spend their first night outside the sleeping crate. We finally had to break down and turn off all the outside lights (since we do not have window treatments on the new French Doors).

Friday morning was a real treat. We slept in the master bedroom, cleaned up in the guest bedroom, and dressed in the remodeled guest room. Funny - I thought it would be easier! Ha Ha Ha The carpet was removed from the last bedroom so work can begin early next week on the hardwood floors.

Weekend chores included buying a new shower curtain and rod, temporary blinds for the French doors, and moving final items as we settle back into the master bedroom. Thank goodness - the workers moved my heavy Phillips television back into the cabinet for me. The last thing I need is another back injury!

Enjoyed dinner, drinks and good conversation down the street at our neighbors on Saturday night. Fun time watching the pups and dogs run around as we ate some really good 'smoked' chicken and brisket. Yummy. Yummy. I cannot wait until the kitchen is completed so we can return the favor.

It is good to be back in our master bedroom and bath. Plenty of touch-up items to place on the punch list - but great to be back all the same. The best things are: room for the coffee maker in the bathroom, easy access for the pups to the outdoors, and the large shower. Oh the simple pleasures.
