Paris 2012/2013 - Day One

We are off on our annual pilgrimage to Paris to ring in the New Year. The travel gremlins are on full alert and keep trying their tricks to reek havoc with our travel plans. Cancelled flights, reroutings, and further delayed flights - all in an attempt to send us else where. Still we arrived blurry-eyed in France only slightly worse for wear. Of course, as one departing slap one of our bags stayed home in Texas and will travel solo sometime tomorrow. Our fingers are crossed that the gremlins are only hoping to teach us who is boss.

The minute our butts hit the seats on the RER B train from the airport towards the hotel - we are back in the rhythm that is Paris. It remains one of my favorite places to visit.

After a quick stop at d'Albe Hotel in the rowdy Latin Quarter - our home away from home for the past many years now. It is a modern hotel situated in the heart of the quarter. The property changed hands a couple of the years ago and most of our old friends have moved on to other jobs. We are quickly making friends with the new staff and bothering them with my request for extra pillows. Oh those crazy Americans - how can the need so many pillows? what do the do with them all.

The RER train from the airport and Metro for the city are right out of the door making it a breeze to get here. It's a quick 35 minutes from arrival to the hotel. Ahh - Paris.

Location:Paris, France
