Paris 2010 – Day Five [Itinerary]

The crowds that poured into Paris for New Year’s are slowly returning to their homes. Smaller crowds equals shorter lines.

We are taking advantage of smaller crowds to visit one of the most famous sites Versailles and hopefully outsmarting other tourist. Today is also the first Sunday of the month and all Paris museums are free. Another – good reason to escape the city on the RER train to Versailles.

This year Versailles is host to a special exhibition of Louis XIV, the man and the king. This is the first time the 300 piece collection has been shown together.

On the way to our home in the Latin Quarter, we  plan to stop by Musee Quai Branly. It is Paris newest natural history museum.

And … if our energy levels allow we may stop by another museum located only a few steps from our hotel – the  Musee Cluny. The museum is built on Roman baths. It is filled with historical artifacts. The famous Unicorn tapestries are a must-see on my list.
