Hong Kong - Day Four Tian Tan Buddah

The highlight of any trip to Lantau is a visit the the Grand Buddah known as Tian Tan Buddah (think Statue of Liberty). The Buddah sits atop of 300 stairs overlooking the entire island and the Lantau Peak. Inside the Buddah you can see historical items (no photos allowed) including a relic of the original Buddah. His followers didn't follow his wishes to be cremated. The Po Lin Monastery and its Hall of Ten Thousand Buddahs is amazing. Be warned the route via Bus 23 is windy and steep. Grab a seat as soon as you can find one and hold on.
