Hong Kong - Day Two Hong Kong Island

Monday, Nov 10 - Today we begin our whirlwind sightseeing adventure with our guide Dicky Woollard (www.dogosee.hk ; www.facebook.com/DoGoSeeHongKong). I discovered his company via Trip Advisor. He is a Brit living in Hong Kong for the past 6 years or so after his wife relocated here for business.

Our first day is focusing on Hong Kong Island from Causeway Bay (and our home at the Lanson Place Hotel), Wan Chai, Central District and Sheung Wan.

The majority of people live along the North shore of Hong Kong Island creating a dense area of skyscrapers, traffic and people. Over time the North shoreline has moved as more and more fill has been added. Many years ago - Queen's Road was waterfront property where wealthy merchants watched their ships.

The Southern portion of the island is green and rises up as your near the Peak of the mountain range. The mountain is covered with the homes of the wealthier residents of Hong Kong and views are breathtaking.
